Cataract<\/h3><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\tCataracts sometimes start to develop in a person\u2019s lens as he or she gets older. Every eye will develop cataract, although affected differently. Blurred, misty, or patchy vision would be the obvious indication. Diabetic Retinopathy<\/h3><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\tDiabetic retinopathy is an eye condition with damaged retina (back of eye), caused by uncontrolled diabetes. Without routine check-ups, diabetic retinopathy in the early stages may not be detected as it doesn\u2019t tend to have any obvious symptoms. However, early signs of the condition can be picked up during diabetic eye screening. Retinal Detachment<\/h3><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\tRetinal detachment occurs when the thin lining at the back of your eye (retina) begins to pull away from the blood vessels that supply it with oxygen and nutrients. Most people will experience warning signs which include floaters (black dots, specks or streaks that float across your field of vision). Age Related Macular Degeneration<\/h3><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\tAge-related macular degeneration (AMD) is when you lose the visual ability to read, write, drive and see images or faces. Glasses won\u2019t be able to correct the blurred central vision, and both eyes tend to eventually be affected by AMD, although problems usually occur in one eye in the beginning. \n\t\t\t\t\tPterygium is a degenerative eye disorder characterised by a fleshy and benign growth of conjunctiva on the nasal corner of the eye. Occasional symptoms like redness, itching, and dryness can occur. In advanced stage, it affects the vision leading to visual disturbances like diplopia (double vision). \n\t\t\t\t\tPoor eyesight can cause learning and behavioural problems in children, who may have difficulties telling their eyesight problems. Squint, short-sightedness, amblyopia (lazy eye), astigmatism, and long-sightedness can be treated more effectively if they are diagnosed earlier, which is why regular eye tests are so important.
